Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Scout IQ Passage uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our website. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.
Cookies set by the website owner are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies". Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g., interactive content and analytics).
How We Use Cookies
We use first-party and third-party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our website to operate, and we refer to these as "essential" or "strictly necessary" cookies. Other cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our website. Third parties serve cookies through our website for analytics and other purposes.
Specifically, we use cookies for:
- Essential website functionality: Ensuring the site loads correctly and securely.
- Security: Protecting against fraudulent activity and verifying user sessions.
- Navigation: Helping you move smoothly through the canopy routes.
- Remembering cookie-consent preferences: Storing whether you have accepted or rejected our cookie notice.
- Website performance: Understanding how our platform runs on different devices.
- Analytics: Gathering anonymous data on site interactions to improve the overall layout and user journey.
Necessary Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary to provide you with services available through our website and to use some of its features. Because these cookies are strictly necessary to deliver the website, you cannot refuse them without impacting how our site functions. You can block or delete them by changing your browser settings, but this may cause parts of the site to break or become unavailable.
Preference Cookies
Preference cookies are used to store preferences set by users such as account name, language, and location. They allow the website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features. If implemented, these optional technologies may be controlled through the website's consent mechanism.
Analytics Cookies
These cookies collect information that is used either in aggregate form to help us understand how our website is being used or how effective our content is, or to help us customize our website for you. We use this data to identify which platforms and routes are most popular, allowing us to continually refine the free-to-play social casino experience.
Optional Cookies
Any cookies that are not strictly necessary for the operation of the website are considered optional cookies. This includes preference and analytics cookies. You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject these optional technologies. They may be controlled through the website's consent mechanism when you first visit the site, or anytime via the Cookie Settings.
Cookie Consent
When you visit our website, you are presented with a cookie consent banner that provides the following choices:
- Accept All: This enables all necessary and optional cookies (including preference and analytics cookies) to provide the best possible experience.
- Reject Optional: This disables all optional cookies. Only necessary cookies required for the website to function will remain active.
- Cookie Settings: This allows you to specifically manage and toggle which optional cookie categories you wish to enable or disable.
You can change your preferences later at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link located in the website footer.
Managing Cookies in a Browser
In addition to our cookie consent tool, most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. You can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our website though your access to some functionality and areas of our website may be restricted.
Disabling Cookies
Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect some website functionality. For instance, disabling necessary cookies may prevent the game frame from loading correctly or stop you from navigating the site securely.
Third-Party Cookies
In some special cases, we also use cookies provided by trusted third parties. For example, our featured free-to-play game is provided via an embedded iframe. The provider of this game may utilize their own cookies to ensure the game functions correctly within the frame. We do not control these third-party cookies, and we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
Changes to the Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please therefore re-visit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.
